Plano to change city services due to Independence Day holiday

The city of Plano will operate under modified hours for the Independence Day holiday, according to the city website.

There will be no garbage and recycling collection on July 4th. Residents with garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Monday will have pickup on July 5, while those who normally have pickup on Tuesday will move to July 6. Residents who normally have pickup on Wednesdays will move to July 7. , and those who normally have a Thursday pickup will move to July 8.

Adjusted hours for city facilities during the holidays can be found below:

• Animal shelter: closed July 4

• Carpenter Park, Oak Point, Liberty and Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Centers: Open 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. July 4

• Day work center: closed on July 4

• High Point Tennis Center: Open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 4

• Center for the reuse of household chemicals: closed on July 2

• Interurban Railway Museum: closed on July 4

• Jack Carter Pool: open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4

• North Texas Municipal Water District Transfer Station and Regional Disposal Facility 121: closed July 4

• Oak Point Nature and Retreat Center: closed July 4

• Pecan Hollow Golf Course: Open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. July 4

• Plano Aquatic Center: open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4

• Plano Municipal Offices: Closed July 4

• Plano Public Library (Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr, and Schimelpfenig Libraries): Closed July 3 and 4

• Sam Johnson Recreation Center for adults 50 and over: closed on July 4

• Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and Custer Road Facility: Closed July 4
