Provincial Minister of Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed said on Sunday that in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision, the provision of quality municipal services is assured to citizens.
He expressed these views during an interview with a Pakistani delegation from Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday.
The delegation was led by Sabir Subhani and consisted of Waqas Amjad, Zeeshan Siddiqui and other ruling party officials.
The minister said transparency in development projects and providing facilities to people at their doorstep was the top priority of the government.
Rasheed said instructions had been issued to further accelerate the development work of various programs, being carried out by the LG&CD department.

All legal requirements were met for procurement while an effective monitoring mechanism had also been developed in this regard.
He said that in the first phase of the investment program for the improvement of intermediate towns in Punjab, development projects were underway in Sialkot and Sahiwal with a budget of 44 billion rupees.
Whereas Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan would be included in the second phase of the same program.
He said work was underway to provide municipal infrastructure including water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, public parks and street lights in 16 cities for 34 billion rupees.
Development projects were designed according to international standards, he added.
