Municipal services will be impacted by Family Day

The City of Greater Sudbury has offered a preview of the services it will provide on Family Day, a statutory holiday that falls on Monday

In anticipation of the Family Day long weekend, the City of Greater Sudbury has issued a reminder that some municipal activities will be affected.

The city is offering reduced rates at pools, skill hills and arenas on Monday. More information can be found online at greaterudbury.ca/recreation.

Here’s how some other municipal operations will unfold this weekend:

  • GOVA Transit buses will follow a holiday service schedule on Family Day. To visit greaterudbury.ca/transportation for holiday transit schedule or call 311.
  • Garbage, recycling and green cart collection are not affected by the holidays. Landfills and the recycling center will be open.

The following municipal services will be closed for Family Day:

  • Tom Davies Square
  • Citizen Service Centers and Libraries
  • Fitness centers
  • Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter will be closed to the public

311 and live chat on 311.greatersudbury.ca will not be available on Monday, when people are still encouraged to call 311 for urgent public works, animal control or COVID-19 enforcement services.

The city’s social media accounts are not monitored on weekends and city holidays.
