Municipal services affected by the return to the second stage

Starting this week, the province of Ontario has reverted to a modified version of the second stage of the roadmap for reopening in an effort to combat recent increases in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

In accordance with provincial requirements, effective immediately, all municipal facilities are closed to the public until at least January 26, 2022.

  • The municipal administration office is closed until January 31, 2022. City staff are available to assist residents by phone and email during this closure. Phones will be answered between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday at 519-538-1060. General email inquiries can be sent to [email protected] For after-hours assistance, call 1-888-525-7024.
  • You can mail documents and checks to: 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford ON N4L 1A1 or use the drop box located next to the front door in the administration office.
  • Property and utility tax payments can be made through online banking, at your financial institution, by mailing a check, or by placing a check in the drop box at the administration office. Payments are processed weekly. pay taxes and Paid utility on how to pay your bills.
  • Identity plates 2022 with pre-registration rate (until March 31st) can be purchased online by completing the Dog Tag Application Form and payment or drop a completed application and payment in the drop box.
  • Waste tags can be purchased at a number of stores and vendors throughout the municipality. Please visit our COVID-19 Open and Closed page for a list of suppliers.
  • Parking tickets and enforcement fines can be paid by mailing a check or placing a check in the drop box at the administration office.
  • Burn permits are available, please complete a Open Burning Permit Application Form and submit it to [email protected], mail it or drop it in the drop box at the administration office.

  • Planning applications continue to be accepted and processed. Planning inquiries can be directed to [email protected] or by calling 519-538-1060 ext. 1127.
  • Building applications continue to be accepted and processed during this time and inquiries can be directed to [email protected] or by calling 519-538-1060 ext. 1127. A drop box for construction applications has been installed at the back of the administration office.
  • Meaford Room, Meaford Museum, and community halls are closed to the public.
  • Community Center and Arena Meaford and St. Vincent is the only municipal facility that will occasionally be open to host vaccination clinics. All other activities are cancelled.
  • Council meetings will be held virtually from January 17and, 2022 and members of the public can attend meetings virtually. Meetings are streamed live on the Municipality of Meaford YouTube channel at www.meaford.ca/youtube.   • Board advisory committee meetings scheduled for January have been cancelled.
  • All essential services, such as emergency services, settlement, water and sewer services, road maintenance, garbage, recycling, electronics recycling and polystyrene recycling will continue.
