Several services of Delhi municipal corporations such as paying property tax, applying for business licenses, issuing birth and death certificates and others under Delhi municipal corporations will now be available in more of 3,000 common service centers (CSCs) across the city. .
The CSC is one of the mission mode projects under the Centre’s Digital India program and was set up by the Union’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The program provides a centralized collaborative framework for the delivery of services to citizens.
A senior official from East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) said that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited to promote the Digital India program and provide citizen-centric online services through 782 CSC under EDMC.
South MCD Mayor Mukesh Suryan said: âThe South Company has added online facilities in 1,441 CSC. Meanwhile, North MCD Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said online municipal services such as birth and death registration, property tax payment, emutation, business licensing, factory licenses, reservation of parks and community halls and renewal of tehbazari, hawking would be available through the CHCs.
He added: “Those who do not have Internet access can benefit from the services of the centers set up across the city.”
