Columbus City Manager Isaiah Hugley inducted into the Georgia Municipal Government Hall of Fame

SAVANNAH, Georgia (WRBL) – Isaiah Hugley, City Manager of the Columbus Consolidated Government, has been inducted into the Georgia Municipal Government Hall of Fame.

Hugley was one of five municipal leaders in the state to receive the honor at the Georgia Municipal Association’s annual convention held in Savannah this year.

According to organizers, the Hall of Fame recognizes city officials who have made extraordinary contributions to the city they serve.

Hugley has spent the last 37 years in the service of local government and has been the Town Manager for the past 16 years.

Hugley has overseen nearly 200 city improvement projects. Organizers say Hugley’s vision helped turn Columbus into a destination city.

Other inductees into the Georgia Municipal Government Hall of Fame this year are:

  • Phil Best, former mayor of Dublin and former chairman of the GMA
  • Vince williams, Mayor of Union City and Past President of GMA
  • Steve edwards, Mayor of Sugar Hill
  • Jimmy burnette, Mayor of Suwanee
